The DRG organises the annual German Radiology Congress (Deutscher Röntgenkongress), which consists of a digital and a face-to-face part and provides information on all the latest developments in radiology.
The DRG - and its numerous working groups, forums and subsidiaries - also offers numerous online and face-to-face events, e.g. the online format Akademie Online and special programmes to prepare for the specialist examination, e.g. Fit für die Facharztprüfung INTENSIV. All events can be found in the events calendar.
The DRG is committed to nurturing the next generation of radiologists. Doctors in further training can enjoy one year of free membership, which includes access to the Young Radiology Forum. This forum facilitates networking with junior doctors from clinics and practices across Germany. For those with a scientific interest, the Researchers for the Future programme is available, specifically targeting junior doctors working in university hospitals.
Students can benefit from the Brightest Minds in Radiology programme.
Furthermore, the DRG bestows numerous awards and prizes to recognize outstanding contributions and achievements.
Furthermore, all doctors in training who are DRG members receive 12 months of free access to the eRef knowledge portal from the scientific publisher Thieme. This portal provides access to a multitude of radiology books and journals, the eRef radiology training curriculum, and curated reading lists compiled by the Forum Junge Radiologie.
DRG members enjoy several advantages. These include:
DeGIR members also receive a membership in CIRSE and receive the DeGIR newsletter and can participate in the additional DeGIR qualifications.
If you want to work as a Medical Technologist for Radiology (MTR) in Germany, there is no way around the German Society for Medical Technologists for Radiology (DGMTR). It is committed to the professional interests of MTR and medical assistants (MFA) – also and especially for skilled workers who come from abroad and want to make a fresh start in Germany. As part of the German Radiological Society (DRG), DGMTR is a recognized voice in the health care system and actively promotes the visibility and further development of the profession.
A central focus of DGMTR is the organisation of practical training courses that support you directly in your everyday work. In addition, DGMTR regularly publishes scientific articles in the journal Radiopraxis, which offers valuable insights into modern imaging techniques, radiation therapy and nuclear medicine. DGMTR is also involved in the promotion of young talent, for example through career information days and specialist courses for prospective MTR and MFA.
Membership in DGMTR is voluntary – but very worthwhile. It gives you access to a strong network, up-to-date specialist information and exclusive benefits.
